Ctrl-V A Play in Four Acts Victor's books are being plagiarized and his engagement with Aimee is in trouble, amid control from everyone around him on his Birthday. A full-length stage play, Ctrl-V (Control Vee) is a romantic comedy about Vee, a writer and artist who questions his family, friends, gender roles which do not seem to work, even his own independent creativity in a culture dominated by uncritical, unquestioned fame. To Lie Within the Moment A Novella Moment was the happy result of my earliest attempts at novel-writing, taking off from "Daffodils" and "The Painter of Modern Life" (in Another Generation Cometh), but it was also a whole new experiment in short fiction. Essentially, To Lie Within the Moment, is one long prose poem as much as it is a short novel. It's set on the Gulf Coast, with Jim, Mary and Anna, illustrating the meanings of their lives as a way of illustrating mine. Jim is in some ways my ideal self, while his wife Mary represented someone close to me, everything I would rather avoid in women, with Anna as an ideal woman of talent and passion. There are many broken conventions and expectations in this ultra-sexy read, now re-released with a retrospective, "Publishing Within the Moment". Exfoliate Poems and Stories 2001-2005 These works championed a new aesthetic, from "Tw'Ilight", "A New Pendant", and "The Fountains", yet also offered biting criticism with the short trilogy, "Tar Baby", with "Lipstick" and "Exfoliate". Those times, and these works, were ones of ups and downs, of fragmentation and joy, from the days of 9/11 to my new directions in Timeless and Dynamism. Bartered Tide Poems and Stories 1995-2000 Further refinements came with "Slipstream", "Moderna", "Passing in the Night", "On the Page", and others. The tensions of those years should be apparent here, all coming to a resolution of sorts with "This Grass Lies the Greenest". These works span years when I had been working on To Lie Within the Moment, through getting it published and touring it, to accepting its limitations and moving on creatively. Another Generation Cometh Poems and Stories 1991-1994 "Absense", "Daffodils" and "The Painter of Modern Life" really signalled a change in theme and tone for me, as I reacted to big changes in my life, and looked forward to attempting a novel. Deeper personal explorations continued with "You Enter", and "Factory", both key specimens of this period of heightened imagery. Opening Lyric Poems and Stories 1984-1988 This was my first [chap]book, though I only realized it years later, when I divided it from Another Generation Cometh. From my first poem, "Dream Frames", I started writing at 17, with an early lyrical (and love-struck) range which extended to "Stop Motion" and "Palmyra". Early stories, or prose poems, like "The Puppet", "The View" and "Red Lenses", pointed toward future directions in my work.
